the newest one is really really good the problem you had at the beginning is that way too many things are happening, super hard to see, i thought its difficult to solve the problem if you want to keep this concept
but you really solved it in a very clean and clear way. so good and agree, the sum on the top left is unnecessary (or maybe make it much smaller?)
I like your interpretation about life, and also the visual. I think you could add more drops to the top of the candle which is composed of bigger letters.
I think it looks really good! the only thing I would change is remove the text sum, because it seems redundant so close to the sum on the candle.
