After reading sum, I felt a clear devision between time that is meaningful and meaningless. Therefore, my concept is a devision between time.
I defined meaningful time as what shows one's emotional connection to the environment. and I classify this as the time of liveliness. What rises above. Because, in life, what makes us feel alive, is not such mare physical activities as doing laundry or calculating tips, but whether it is such pleasant moment as the moments of pure joy or such painful experiences as heart break, we feel alive when we actually feel something.
therefore, for opposite, I classified the rest of the activities mentioned in the paragraph as the time of death. it doesn't mean the literal death of the subject of that time , but death of the time itself. Because, these are the time that does not gets the meaning by itself but just there to fill the gap between time and to make those time of liveliness more meaningful.

I think the whole idea and the poster are working nice.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing you may improve is that on the left side, the "ruler" thing, maybe you can do something to the upper side to make it more active/ lively (which also responds to your concept)?
I can clearly see the contrast between meaningful and meaningless time as the poster is divided into white and black sides. I think it could be more strong poster if the text part also shows contrast. Maybe text on the white side could have larger gap between each sentense by varying the length of sentences. So the whole part can be seen as more alive heart beat rate.
ReplyDeleteI really like your poster. I think it really conveys your concept. The heart beat really explains the contrast of your two categories
ReplyDeletethe black and white contrast is really nice, but i think you can emphasize "lifeliness" and "death" more. maybe you can make the type bigger? or with lifeliness part of the poster, you can play around with the type, have some type bigger and smaller, or make it childish like to represent lifeliness. really like your poster though
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd poster really relates to the concept. It is very straightforward. The color and the alignment of the poster really shows the contrast between meaningful and meaningless.
ReplyDeleteI like this poster, it is really simple. I think it a little bit different to read the information.
ReplyDeleteI really like your poster, there is only one thing is that I think you should replace title and author's name, it's made me abstracted.
ReplyDeleteInstead of just using the colors black and white to depict meaningless and meaningful, you can use the text to further illustrate and drive your idea home. I feel like you're almost there, just need a little more visual context to show that the white is what appeals to you, and the black is what doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the concept is strong and the simplicity is admirable, but the text is so monotonous that I am not sure if there is a drive to read it and appreciat your concept.
ReplyDeleteI like what you yorself said " just there to fill the gap between time and to make those time of liveliness more meaningful" the word "gap" is a key to intersect yje two. I agree that the could be a more intruiging way to place the title and the name.
I didn't get the idea of a heartbeat because it is usually a zig-zag line (I am not suggesting it either).
Maybe, you use a scale between these two. Maybe, you introduce space and scale to really push the idea of layers on meaning and gaps, where miningful things are more often less visible behind or inbetween less meaningful, but visible ones.
like the concept, like the look of it
