Michiko

We didn't get a chance to look at my work last class, so I was wondering if you guys could give me any feed back.

My concept is :

“...the thought is blissful: a life where episodes are split into tiny
swallowable pieces, where moments do not endure...”

Life is manageable because you do not have to do everything at once. Our attention span is short and as a result we can only do the same task for a short period of time before the value of the experience decreases. It is important to live in the moment and change to a new task when the experience starts to lose its value, because having that ability is what makes life so great.

This last week I was trying to add emotion and depth to my poster. Make the visual hierarchy more clear and make the whole poster feel more complete.

last weeks :

This one is a lot closer to what I had last week tried adding an off white background to help it feel like one.

I felt like sand relates to my concept because it's little bits that can be put together and rearranged, also the feeling is very calm and pleasant. (not sure if using a photograph is allowed though) In the first one I was using it to bring your eye to the bringing, so you know where to start and the second one to bring your attention to the title of the short story.

This one I used a bubble background, which is a natural and organic pattern to contrast the very organized and structured text. I was hoping to add the calm and happy emotion to my poster.

For this piece I was trying to find the simplest way to add the emotion to my poster, using the emotion that the color.

Thank you!

  1. i think your idea is good and the way you try to present it is pretty unique, the only thing is how to make it more visually attractive but also keep this format of the type
and i see there has been progress...

1st one: the color blocks and background color are good
2nd: change the size of type is also good, but not sure about the font, that font looks not so right at big size...
3rd: i think the picture at the corner is too conspicuous when compare to other white type on pale background
4th(the bubble one): i like this one so much, the color is soft and mild, which reflects your concept, the bubble is making the whole poster energetic and the types are still easy to see, just not sure about the font of large type...
    5th: 4th one is better...

  2. I like your interpretation and variation of your posters. For 6th one, I think it would be better if you add spot color to some texts, for example "sum" .
